Here are some LINKS to websites/books I enjoy.

Psychology

  • The Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies – an organisation devoted to dissolving the stigma associated with psychedelic drugs, and getting them back into the arms of the scientific community for use in psychotherapy and research.
  • Personality Tests – a collection of free online psychological profiling tests.
  • The IPIP-NEO – here is the official IPIP-NEO (International Personality Item Pool), it tests you on the five factor model of personality traits (openness to experience, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness and neuroticism).
  • The Personality Page – info of each of the Jungian personality type profiles.
  • PsychoTube – the YouTube of psychology videos!
  • APS: Australian Psychological Society – here’s the official webpage for the APS, Australia’s very own psychological society.
  • APA Formatting and Style Guide – this is an extremely valuable resource for any students studying psychology; it outlines the APA (American Psychological Society) formatting rules which are necessary to follow when writing a psychological research report.
  • Sleepyti.me – possibly the most useful website on the face of the planet. You tell it what time you have/want to wake up and it tells you when to go to sleep. Alternatively you can click the ZZZ button before you go to bed and it will tell you what time to set your alarm clock to. It instantly works out how many sleep cycles you need to get a good nights sleep so you don’t have to!
  • Alternate Sleep Cycles – a list of all the possible sleep cycles you can adopt.

Psychedelic Drugs

  • The Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies – an organisation devoted to dissolving the stigma associated with psychedelic drugs, and getting them back into the arms of the scientific community for use in psychotherapy and research.
  • List of completed, current, and future psychedelic research – presented by MAPS (The Multidisciplinary Association for Psychelic Studies, psychedelics being researched include: MDMA, MDE, Ayahuasca, DMT, Ibogaine, Ketamine, LSA, LSD, Mescaline, Peyote, Psilocybin, Salvia Divinorum and Marijuana.
  • The Psychedelic Experience – Dr. Timothy Leary and Dr. Richard Alpert’s (Ram Dass) cult classic novel on conducting and guiding a psychedelic session.
  • The Varieties of Psychedelic Experience – the first and only comprehensive guide on the effects of LSD on human personality; written by eminent psychotherapists who used LSD in their therapeutic sessions – in the early to mid 60s before the drug was criminalised.
  • LSD: The Consciousness Expanding Drug – here is a collection of essays on LSD and it’s beneficial use in psychotherapy written by the likes of Timothy Leary, Alan Watts and Aldous Huxley.
  • LSD with Richard Alpert & Sidney Cohen – this is a very hard to find text, free for you to read online. It is the last thing Richard Alpert wrote/collaborated on while he was still in the psychologist mould, shortly after this book he left to India and became Ram Dass. This book is in question and answer format and has Sidney Cohen interviewing Richard Alpert on a variety of questions regarding LSD use.
  • The Eight-Circuit Model of Consciousness – ex Harvard psychologist Timothy Leary’s model of consciousness, which he developed through his extensive research on LSD.
  • Prometheus Rising by Robert Anton Wilson, is a book that expands on Leary’s eight-circuit model of consciousness.
  • Magic Mushrooms of Australia and New Zealand – an important guide for Australians and New Zealanders wishing to locate their own magic mushrooms in the wild; a field guide like this can be the difference between life and death.
  • Magic Mushroom Dosage Calculator – sometimes your gut instinct can get you in trouble, this is often the case with drugs as it is difficult to determine the potency of what you are ingesting. As mushrooms are picked straight out of the ground, they are extremely consistent with their potency depending on location. Simply input the magic mushrooms you picked (identify them first) and the plateau you would like to reach and the calculator tells you how much to consume.

Eastern Spirituality

  • Zen Without Zen Masters by Camden Benares.
  • Mindfulness in Plain English – a very useful and practical guide to Buddhist Vipassana meditation.
  • Vipassana Meditation Retreats – 10 day (free) Vipassana Meditation retreats are offered at various centers across the world; this site helps locate one close to you.
  • Shiva Yoga – this is the website for Swami Shankarananda’s ashram situated in Melbourne, Victoria (AUS). The ashram offers yoga/meditation courses and satsangs; all are welcome. The ashram is based on the philosophies and teachings of Kashmir Shaivism.
  • Ayahuasca Oddysey – if you ever find yourself in Peru, and want to do something different, you might like to try an Ayahuasca retreat. Ayahuasca is a plant that Amazonian tribes ingest ritualistically in the company of a Shaman, who is comparable to a psychotherapist of the spiritual and primitive world. Ayahuasca is the vine that DMT is extracted from and is considered to be an entheogen, (translates as “God inside us”), which is a type of psychoactive drug capable of producing spiritual experiences. Research conducted by Rick Strassman, M.D suggests that DMT is naturally released through our pineal gland and floods our brains at the moment we are born and the moment before we die, or have a near death experience – this could explain what the ‘white light’ is.
  • Ibogatherapy – The friendly folks at Ibogatherapy offer a comfortable bungalow situated in the Netherlands along with an extensive shamanistic ritual with the sacred Iboga and Ayahuasca plants.
  • Be Here Now – Ram Dass’s cult classic text on Hindu spirituality and awakening written in the 70s. It can also be viewed from this link.

  1. Hello Webmaster,

I visited your web site earlier today and firstly wanted to congratulate you on the appearance, excellent content and accessibility I discovered there. It is not often I come across a web site that offers such a positive user experience and great information too.

At this present moment, I am seeking meaningful links from quality websites just like yours, for a current project on behalf of iboga-experience.nl. As you will see, this is based upon a similar theme to yours and does in my view, offer added value content for web site visitors.

Now as a part of this promotional activity, I would very much like to have a link featured on your website. Should you be agreeable, please use the following details to add the project site to your links page.

    Title: – Ibogatherapy

    URL: – http://www.iboga-experience.nl/

Description: – We offer an Ibogaceremony in a luxurious bungalow in the Netherlands.

Then we will add your link.

If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate in contacting me by replying to this email. I will then get back to you as soon as possible.

    Thanks and Regards,
    Linking Manager.

  2. Woah! I’m really enjoying the template/theme of this site. It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s very difficult to get that “perfect balance” between user friendliness and appearance. I must say that you’ve done a fantastic job with this. Also, the blog loads super fast for me on Firefox. Excellent Blog!
